The McKenzie Valley a fisherman's and a recreational paradise. Check the local regulations here before you fish. One of my favorites fishing spots is Clear Lake located about seventy miles east of Eugene off highway 126. There are no power boats allowed on the lake, it makes for excellent fishing and the scenery is absolutley breathtaking. There is naturally reproducing brook trout and stocked with rainbow trout. Power bait seems to be the bait of choice among local fisherman. A resort nearby Clear Lake Resort offers a restaurant, boat and cabin rentals. There is also a USFS campground nearby Coldwater Cove Campground. The Lake itself is the beginning of the headwaters of the McKenzie River . As the river heads downstream it travels over two water falls, Sahalie Falls and Koosah Falls into Carmen Reservoir. The resevoir is stocked with rainbow trout and has naturally reproducing brook trout. There are some excellent fishing spots along the banks and Ice Cap campground is nearby.
